Dressing Basics

Dressing can be used for salads, as a marinade, or as a sauce. They are very versatile. It is so much more delicious to make your own fresh dressings and sauces than to buy the prepackaged ones. It’s quick to do, also. Once you get used to it, you will never go back.

I hesitate to give quantities of spices and exact measurements, because everyone has different tastes. Get creative and try new things. Here are some basic tips to get you started.

Article: Make the Perfect Vinaigrette

Make sure you use a ratio of 3:1 for oil to vinegar or citrus. Let the dressing sit for at least 30 minutes.

Note: All of my recipes use either citrus (lemon, lime, orange, etc.) or Coconut Vinegar. You can also use Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar sparingly. I do not use any other vinegar. For more information, see the Seasonings page on the website.
